The housing market has been limping along since the collapse of subprime loans, down-payment assistance programs has risen to take its place. Non-profit organizations gift down-payments through a federal loophole, still placing those who can't afford it into homes. But on Oct. 7, the government will crush this program and flatten the market by as much as fifty percent when the housing bill goes into effect. Though this should finish the use of bad loans, recovering from the bill's blow could take up to two years. |
