MetroBrokersTV: Hey, we are at Inman Real Estate Connect at San Francisco in 2008. I am with Ken Turnbull and Ken, you are with Metro Brokers?

Ken Turnbull: Yes, I am with Metro Brokers DTC...

MetroBrokersTV: And that is...

Ken Turnbull: In Denver, Colorado.

MetroBrokersTV: In Denver, Colorado, great. So, Ken, what... tell me what you were looking for when you came out at Inman. This is your first time here?

Ken Turnbull: Yes, it is. Well, my specialty is working out land and water rights, mainly in Douglas County, but I wanted to come out here to find out about the technology and to see what is the state of the real estate industry. In general, I feel the real estate industry has been behind in technology and this Inman conference is the forefront.

MetroBrokersTV: Yeah, I think Inman really, this is really the root[Phonetic] of where everything starts as far as changing people. It takes a year or two before it ever floats down river.

Ken Turnbull: Well, for example, my background is in geospatial aerospace. I worked at both DigitalGlobe that is supplying the imagery for Google and then I worked at SpaceImaging and they are supplying the imagery for Virtual Earth. I attended the Virtual Earth seminar today. They have stuff coming out. It is not really public yet, but it is blowing me away. It changes the way people do business. Can you imagine bringing up a website that has a map and now as you start going through your content, the map stays up. Now, you can start picking on schools, you can start picking on selecting different types of real estate property and the map is there. So, now, instead of being a big idea of a or a text description of a legal description, you got a map, an image, something that just shows you in an instant pictures worth a thousand words.

MetroBrokersTV: It is like seeing the futuristic things that some of the vendors are showing off here.

Ken Turnbull: I just see it continuing as well. The enthusiasm here also, that really surprised me. The people here are enthusiastic. They see it coming. I plan to come back next year.

MetroBrokersTV: Right. Ken, well, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinions. Thank you.

MetroBrokersTV: We are in the lobby of the Palace Hotel here at Inman Real Estate Connect in San Francisco 2008 and I have Mark Harrison and Mark is with Metro Brokers and welcome Mark.

Mark Harrison: Thank you very much. I am happy to be here.

MetroBrokersTV: Hey, which office I am curious do you work out of?

Mark Harrison: Quebec and Arapahoe Cherry Tree Properties.

MetroBrokersTV: Oh, great and I understand you do sit on the Metro Brokers technology committee. Is that right for Metro Brokers?

Mark Harrison: I do and that is kind of what... why I am here. It has been enjoyable experience, kind of building the next phase of the technology with Metro Brokers in Denver, Colorado.

MetroBrokersTV: So, tell me, you have made it to a couple of events and seminars today. Anything grab your attention?

Mark Harrison: Definitely. The HGTV definitely did. frontdoor.com seems like a great tool. TonS of hits obviously with the name recognition of HGTV and the brand that they've established. Looks like finally agents were able to market on that website. They are opening a platform for us to actually spread the word even wider and broader than maybe some of the other websites.

MetroBrokersTV: Well, so agents have the ability to put like their IDX listings on HGTV and the frontdoor?

Mark Harrison: They do, which I was actually... this is the first time I have heard of them or heard of that particular website. They are really trying to brand that and ton of hits obviously with all the TV shows that are tied in to the food network, that are tied into a ton of different stuff, and I was real excited about getting them and actually being able to tie it into HGTV, which is obviously known for that type and actually being able to list my properties, my listings on there as kind of a plus for sure.

MetroBrokersTV: Right. Well, this is your first time out here at Inman Connect, right?

Mark Harrison: It is and real excited about being here, learning a ton. It is only the first day, but looking forward to the next two days and see what I can learn.

MetroBrokersTV: All right. Well, thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions Mark.

Mark Harrison: Thanks very much. Appreciate it.

MetroBrokersTV: Welcome to Metro Brokers TV and we are on the Pied Piper Bar here at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco at the real estate Connect 2008 in San Francisco, produced by Brad Inman and today we are talking with Kirby Smith and Kirby, welcome.

Kirby Smith: Thank you.

MetroBrokersTV: I understand you were just up in your room writing a contract and some of our digital CTM eContracts that Metro Brokers uses.

Kirby Smith: Yeah, that's right. No matter where we go, if you are a Metro Broker you can sign your... you could write your contracts online, sign them, send them off, didn't print a single piece of paper and I put a nice property on the contract this afternoon.

MetroBrokersTV: Excellent. So, anything you are picking up here after a full day at Inman you can talk about?

Kirby Smith: Well, certainly what I get is that we at Metro Brokers are right on track, whether it be blogging, map search technology, electronic contracts, we are there... we are there. We are right out in front.

MetroBrokersTV: So, Kirby, what are you seeing in the future and I think a lot of our talk here has been on markets and I think what we are seeing mostly in our markets is real localism and really what is your take on the Denver markets?

Kirby Smith: Well, I think the Denver market, you know, I am an optimist and I think we have... I think we have turned the corner. I think we are headed upwards. We never suffered like the rest of the nation.

MetroBrokersTV: I mean really I was in one session today and they are talking about certain parts of the country we are going to see 30% or 40% price reductions they think before it shakes out.

Kirby Smith: Yeah.

MetroBrokersTV: I don't know if you [Voice Cross Over] about them.

Kirby Smith: I was not there. That's... well, that's a load isn't it? I mean that would be a heavy load. I don't think we are... we are not facing that in Denver.

MetroBrokersTV: Well, once again Kirby, it has been great talking with you. I appreciate your input and I hope to see you later today.

Kirby Smith: Thanks
